Dr. Mariam Abdelmalak

Iam awareded my PhD New Mexico State University, Curriculum and Instruction department in 2013. I am now lecture at  Assiut University, Egypt, in the College of Education specifically in the Curriculum & Instruction department

 

Research Interests:

My dissertation focused on student active participation in curriculum design and implementation. During the project I considered ways graduate students can be involved in the decision making process regarding the course curriculum. As such, my research interests include curriculum design, critical curriculum, student voice, and democratic education. I am also interested in curriculum based technology integration.

 

Teaching Philosophy

I am an educator who believes that our role is not to transmit knowledge to passive learners. Rather our role as educators is to facilitate student learning with whatever means work best for them. Our role is to assist students to build knowledge for themselves and to help them to make decisions about their own learning.
